Natural elements are always present in Waldorf schools, and the same is true for writing utensils. Their importance for hand-eye coordination, lighting, and posture helps us maintain healthy vision. From a very young age, we must pay attention to how writing tools are held to ensure a fluid posture, free of tension, balancing energy, avoiding fatigue, while also respecting our eyes and our gaze. Songs and stories for children are effective and approachable resources. An adult’s guidance toward achieving good handwriting can foster appropriate development for boys and girls, with tenderness and affectionate accompaniment.
